Art Guidelines for Submission

The most important element of your digital file is actually the hard copy that accompanies it. “Hard Copy” is the print out that reflects the final result. It can be printed from your desktop printer in a smaller size but should be 1/8, 1/4 or 1/2 size giving the color breakdown, PMS matches or colors to use. Our art department uses Apple iMac computers. Generally a file saved as an EPS is compatible, even if it’s an IBM file.

Acceptable Media:
CD/DVD
USB Flash drive
E-mail (up to 2 MB files)

Acceptable File Formats:
Adobe Illustrator CS3 or earlier, save as AI, EPS or PDF
Photoshop CS3 or earlier, save as PSD, JPEG or TIFF( Images must be at least 300 DPI at final size)
InDesign CS3 or earlier, save as .INDD or press quality PDF
FlexiLetter 6.5 or earlier

Acceptable Fonts:
To ensure accurate fonts it is always best to convert the fonts to outlines (paths). If you expect the type to be edited by us, include all fonts with the document. IBM fonts will not load on our MACs so PC documents must be converted to outlines (paths).

Acceptable Graphics:
Vector graphics are preferred. In order to properly scale or color separate for spot colors, a file must be vector. No low resolution scans for large banners. No images copied from the web. These are low resolution and are only intended for viewing through a monitor. If the image is high resolution bit-mapped and placed, a TIFF or JPEG compression is good.
